Today is the day that the world lost Keith Moon. There hasn’t been a drummer who has come close to sounding like him. I know a lot about the drums and drummers, because before I was a radio guy, I was a drummer and still am. It’s not that Keith has lighting fast drums fills, he didn’t have the skills on the kit that others had. What he had was unlike anyone else who plays, when Keith Moon played, you knew it was him, even the way his drums sounded.

Putting all the antic aside, all the lunacy and stories. Keith was a brilliant drummer who wasn’t the timekeeper in the Who, he was more of a lead drummer. The band’s sound changed when he passed. Below are some videos where you can see that the guys in the band, were having fun with their friend. RIP Keith from one drummer to another!
On this you can hear him yelling and grunting in the drum track……
