Dave Hlubek, lead guitarist and co-founder of Southern rock icons Molly Hatchet, has died at 66. The band’s official Facebook page confirms with a solemn statement.
“It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved friend and band member Dave Hlubek. Amongst his many contributions to southern rock is “Flirtin’ with Disaster.” Our condolences and our prayers go out to his family during this time of loss. He will be missed but never forgotten, as the music lives on through his legacy in Molly Hatchet.”
The band had several European tour dates arranged between Sept. 16 and Dec. 15, but haven’t given word on if the band will carry on without Hlubek.
