On this day in 1970, Paul McCartney’s debut solo album, ‘McCartney’, started a three-week run at No.1. Apart from Linda McCartney’s vocal contributions, McCartney performed and recorded the entire album solo. The album featured ‘Maybe I’m Amazed’ which was the second to last song on side two, not the place where the albums lead song would be. Paul says that song and the fact that it became one of his most known songs, was a total shock.
